When trying to view the calculation tab or the KPI tab in Analysis Services 2005 you might run into the following error (which really says nothing):
Application Exception - "Unexpected Error Occoured."
In my search for the reason to this I came by the following thread at the MSDN forums:

Looks like the installation of Office 2007 by mistake overwrites the two files msmdlocal.dll and msmgdsrv.dll in the folder %programfiles%\Common Files\System\Ole DB\ with an older version
However you can find the right versioned files in this folder: %programfiles%\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\
After replacing the files - you restart SSAS and the tabs are both working again..

Thank you. This was just what I needed; the problem was indeed the Office 2007 install over Analysis Services and Visual Studion 2005.
