I know everyone always tell me not to use my national letters when naming certain objects - that's a fact for all types of programming. That is SQL Server databases, tables etc., C# classes, webpages, cubes and so on.
Well, I don't always listen - haven't you all heard of unicode. Looks like someone at the HQ in Redmond haven't.
Today I spent almost four hours trying to solve that stupid problem. Making a MOSS 2007 report dashboard containing a simple list of KPI's, however I couldn't connect to my recently created Analysis Services cube. Well, Excel 2007 didn't mess up when connecting to the cube, worked like a charm!
In the end I realized that the guys, who told me about always using english naming conventions, could be right.
Renaming all my objects - solved the problem in Sharepoint. I'm now able to connect to the cube. Yihaa - so much for unicode.
Still I think it is too bad - using the danish letters makes, in this case at least, the cube much more readable.
My advice to you - don't use international characters.

Just another example of Sharepoint failing and suckage IMO...
